As a Guardian Advocate, I am privileged to help people heal from some of the most difficult circumstances they will ever experience. After being involuntarily hospitalized under the Baker Act, many individuals find themselves lost, confused, and tragically without hope.
It warms my heart, even in these cold winter months, to be the guiding light who can advocate on their behalf, give them confidence that their needs are heard and bring the hope back to them.
The Mental Health Association of Central Florida is providing pathways for recovery for these individuals through their Guardian Advocate and other programs, but to continue to keep up with the rising demand, they need the community’s support.
