Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by drastic changes in mood, energy and emotions swinging from extreme highs and extreme lows.

These highs, called mania or hypomania depending on the severity. Manic episodes can be characterized by an increase in energy, a decreased need for things like sleep and food, impulsive behavior and feelings of increased confidence.

The lows, called depressive episodes, are the opposite coming with feelings of sadness or emptiness, troubles with sleep, losses of interest and feelings of hopelessness.
