Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is characterized by unstable mood, behavior and perception of themselves. People with BPD often have a hard time recovering after experiencing strong emotions, leading to impulsivity and trouble maintaining steady relationships. BPD is less common than many other mental health conditions, with an estimated 1.4% of American adults diagnosed with it.
