The programs of the MHACF are guided by the Before Stage 4 (B4Stage4) philosophy – that mental health conditions should be treated long before they reach their most critical points in the process. The Youth and Family Wellness Program Utilizes the well-established treatment Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) recovery model, an intensive, individualized care management process for parents and families with children that have serious or complex needs but with a focus to address these serious emotional and behavioral problems in their home and community. The goals of the program are to engage both the youth and the family unit using a carefully- designed and highly-customized planning process, the intention is to “wrap” the youth – and family – with support systems and relevant resources in their community and everyday environments with the ultimate goal to either keep youth from transitioning to a higher, more intensive level of care or to successfully transition a child from a high-level of care back home.
